Opale di Mesa, in the Vermentino di Sardegna DOC version, presents a fresh and immediate profile, characterized by a fragrant weave of Mediterranean citrus and white flowers that does not overpower the subtle saline note. On the palate there are also light notes of white-fleshed fruit and a slightly enveloping texture; the sip is slender yet substantial, with a balance between lively acidity and a pleasant sapidity that supports the drinkability. The finish leaves a slight bitterness that invites a second sip. The magnum-format bottle amplifies the wine’s roundness and makes it perfect for moments of sharing.

Serve chilled; it enhances fish-based dishes — raw preparations, shellfish and light grills — as well as seafood starters and fresh cheeses; it also lends itself to accompanying summer dishes based on vegetables and aromatic herbs. Elegant but unpretentious, it is ideal for those seeking a Vermentino with a steady character, capable of offering immediate pleasure without sacrificing structure and persistence. A large glass is preferable to bring out its aromas; serve at around 10–12 °C.

Country: Italia
Founded: 1772

Renowned for producing Amarone and for its mastery of the appassimento technique. Campofiorin and the practice of ripasso: historic labels associated with production innovation. Use and promotion of Valpolicella’s native grape varieties. Commitment to oenological research to refine grape-drying and winemaking techniques.
Winery history
Masi's history is rooted in Valpolicella Classica. A historic family-owned estate, it has developed and enhanced the wines from dried grapes typical of the region. During the 20th century the company helped popularize practices such as ripasso and launched oenological research and experimentation to refine the appassimento technique and the quality of its Amarone and its high-end bottlings.
Production philosophy
It combines respect for local traditions and indigenous grape varieties with research and innovation in winemaking and in the appassimento process. The approach aims to express the Valpolicella territory through careful grape selection, the practice of appassimento and targeted oenological experimentation focused on quality improvement.
Terroir and vineyards
It operates mainly in the Valpolicella Classica, in the province of Verona. The wines are closely linked to the local grape varieties and the area's traditional practices, particularly to typical wines such as Amarone, Recioto and Valpolicella Ripasso.
