Glen Scotia 12-year-old clearly expresses the maritime style of a Campbeltown distillery: it is a balanced single malt with a restrained personality, one that favors a clean profile over brute strength. On the nose it opens with gentle caramel, citrus peel and a hint of honey, accompanied by woody notes and sweet spices that give structure without weighing it down. The palate is lively and linear, medium-bodied, with well-integrated alcohol that supports the softness of the mouthfeel without masking its finesse. On tasting, maritime salinity returns to balance the sweetness, while a faint smokiness in the background leaves a pleasantly persistent impression; the finish remains clean and inviting, with citrus echoes and a peppery hint.

It is best enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to open the aromas, and pairs well with savory seafood dishes, cured meats that aren't too intense and dark chocolate: a versatile companion for those seeking an elegant, honest whisky.
