Caol Ila 13-year-old with a finish in Graves wine casks shows a character of well-measured contrasts: the island’s typical peat opens onto a marine profile, with saline notes and a smoky nuance that remains lively but controlled. The passage through the Graves casks imparts a riper fruity note, red-berry tart and a light vanilla spice, without overpowering the smoky core; the whole is dry, elegant and supported by a balsamic freshness that keeps the sip flowing.

On the palate it reveals medium body, soft warmth and a subtle tannic texture derived from the wine wood, which provides an elegant roundness. The persistence alternates returns of smoke and fruity echoes, with a savory and slightly bitter finish. Serve at room temperature or slightly cool; ideal for contemplative sipping or paired with smoked seafood dishes, aged cheeses and dark chocolate — adding a drop of water can open up its aromas.
