This Cardhu Cask Strength 2013 (12 years), offered in Douglas Laing’s Old Particular series, presents the Speyside profile in an intense yet controlled way: clear notes of malt and honey, orchard fruit with a hint of citrus zest and a delicate vanilla thread. The full strength supports the body without overpowering, giving warmth and direction to the sip; the overall impression remains balanced, with a roundness that softens the more vigorous tones.

On the palate it unfolds in layers of ripe fruit, honey and sweet spices, while a light wood influence provides structure and pleasant persistence. A few drops of water release further nuances and tame the alcoholic heat, making the bouquet more approachable; excellent to enjoy slowly, it pairs well with aged cheeses, apple-based desserts or a square of dark chocolate. The presentation box also makes it a thoughtful gift for those who appreciate single malts at natural strength.
