The story
The modern Evan Williams brand was launched by Heaven Hill in 1957, taking its name from the historic distiller Evan Williams, who according to local tradition began distilling in Louisville in 1783. Today Evan Williams is produced within the Heaven Hill group: the spirit is distilled at Heaven Hill's Bernheim facilities in Louisville and is aged and bottled at Heaven Hill's facilities in Bardstown, Kentucky.
