It traces the earliest documentation of the site to 1763 and produces a range of single malt Scotch whiskies (including peated expressions and long maturations) as well as a craft gin made from the distillery's new make spirit.

The story
The site has documentation dating back to 1763 (a lease register mentioning Thurot Distillery), which is why the distillery styles itself as "Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery." Over the centuries it experienced closures and reopenings (production suspended in the 1920s, reopened in 1957) and has been extensively renovated several times. In March 2019 ownership passed to a joint venture led by Lalique Group together with Hansjörg Wyss; from 2020 the single malt range marketed under The Glenturret name was relaunched.
Distillation
Traditional double distillation in copper pot stills (pot still): a wash still and a spirit still; use of new make malt spirit also for gin.
Ageing
