Royal Brackla 2009, bottled at fifteen years by Gordon & MacPhail in a 70 cl bottle, presents a sober and well-defined aromatic profile. On the nose there are notes of sweet malt and honey, ripe fleshy fruit and a delicate vanilla that enriches without intruding; the character is clean, with measured intensity and warmth that leave room for a neat and pleasant sip. It is a whisky of clear personality, suitable for attentive tasting but also for more relaxed moments.

On the palate it shows roundness and balance, with a pleasing contrast between sweetness and drier tones; light impressions of dried fruit and spices appear to support the structure, while the finish remains persistent and straightforward. It is enjoyable neat or with a drop of water to open hidden nuances; it pairs well with dark chocolate, aged cheeses or a contemplative after-dinner. Best served in a glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature.
