Barrel Bonfire is a whisky from the Signature Series 2 from Arran that presents a decisive yet balanced character. On the nose there is a gentle smoke, more wood-ash than aggressive peat, woven with sweet notes of caramel, toffee and orange zest; in the background hints of vanilla and charred wood open up, remaining discreet and inviting. The 70 cl bottle, presented in a gift box, enhances the theatrical impact of the name without forcing the aromatic profile.

On the palate the sip is warm and rounded: the initial sweetness supports the smoky touch, while a light spiciness gives movement to the palate. The body is measured, the persistence good with toasted echoes and a finish that recalls gentle ash and dried fruit. It drinks well neat or with a few drops of water to open the tones; it pairs well with aged cheeses, smoked meats or a square of dark chocolate for those seeking contrast.
