Cacique

The Cacique brand was born in Venezuela in the late 1950s / early 1960s by entities linked to Licorerías Unidas / Destilerías Unidas; it quickly established itself in the domestic market and, over time, came under the control of large international groups. In January 2025 the ownership of the product line was transferred from Diageo to Bardinet (La Martiniquaise-Bardinet Group).

Focus on smooth, fruity, easy-drinking rums, built through blends and ageing designed to achieve balance and roundness, with attention to consistency across the commercial range.

Venezuela (historic production linked to the state of Lara, La Miel area / near Terepaima National Park); commercial market extends to Spain, Latin America and other European countries.

Production based on blends of different distillates; brand documentation mentions the use of multiple distillation methods (several versions/distillates) and ageing in oak barrels for the amber expressions; white versions have minimal maturation in stainless steel or neutral barrels according to product sheets.
