Producer history Connemara
The Cooley Distillery was founded by John Teeling in 1987. Connemara is a Cooley brand created to express the peated single malt style in Ireland; distillation takes place at Cooley using peated malted barley and maturation occurs in casks. Cooley was acquired by Beam (the sale completed in January 2012) and Beam was subsequently acquired by Suntory in 2014.
