Don Papa

Don Papa was launched as a brand by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the initiative of Stephen Carroll; its commercial debut dates to 2012. The brand name and imagery draw on the historical figure Papa Isio, a local leader on the island of Negros. In January 2023 Diageo announced the acquisition of the brand, marking its entry into the portfolio of a major international group.

To highlight the territory of the island of Negros ("Sugarland") and its sugarcane tradition by offering aged rums that reflect the tropical climate and the character of local raw materials. The brand emphasizes distinctive packaging, limited releases with various cask finishes and a blending approach overseen by a Master Blender.
