Production method
Production of heavily peated single malt based on the four traditional ingredients: water (from its own well), malted barley, yeast and peat. Distillation on copper pot stills (batch distillation); maturation mainly in ex-bourbon barrels with use of sherry cask finishes and other types of cask.

Producer history Lagg Distillery
Owned by Isle of Arran Distillers Ltd., Lagg is a new facility built to produce the peated style typical of the island's southern side. Construction began in 2017, the first distillation took place in spring 2019 and the distillery opened to the public in 2019. The first Lagg malt releases were marketed from 2022, with the launch of the core range between 2023 and 2024.
Production philosophy
Lagg aims to express the earthy, smoky character of south Arran, favoring a peated aromatic profile while remaining rooted in the local territory (using local well water and selected malted barley). Production emphasizes a recognizable house style through the use of bourbon barrels and sherry cask finishes to create aromatic contrasts.
