Production method

Hierbas liqueurs are obtained by maceration, distillation and/or infusion of the island's aromatic plants; production uses agricultural alcohol, demineralized water and the addition of sugar for the final product. For some distillates traditional discontinuous pot stills are used.

No barrel aging detected for Hierbas Ibicencas (production based on maceration/infusion); aging is not indicated for the main range.

Producer history Mari

The Marí Mayans family has been connected to the production of liqueurs and distillates in the Ibiza area since the late 19th century; official sources attribute the origin of the Hierbas recipe to Juan Marí Mayans around 1880. The company has preserved family recipes and artisanal methods for generations and produces in the Montecristo industrial area (Ibiza).
