The story
Its origins date back to 1703, when a distillery near Mount Gilboa in Barbados began producing rum. It was later renamed Mount Gay in honour of Sir John Gay Alleyne. Eclipse, the first rum marketed under the Mount Gay brand, was launched in 1910.
