Winery history Domaine Roy & Fils

Founded as a winemaking project by Marc‑André Roy and Jared Etzel, the winery has expanded by developing vineyards in the Dundee Hills area and at sites near Carlton/Yamhill‑Carlton. The property includes the Iron Filbert vineyard in the Dundee Hills; part of the land was originally used for hazelnut cultivation before being converted to a vineyard. In July 2023, the Marchesi Frescobaldi group announced the acquisition of Domaine Roy & Fils.

Production philosophy

The winemaking and agronomic approach emphasizes careful vineyard management and production that showcases the site's character. In the cellar, enological precision is prioritized, with fermentation and aging tailored to highlight acidity, minerality and varietal purity.

Terroir and vineyards

Willamette Valley, with estate-designated vineyards from parcels such as Iron Filbert. Fruit from other areas of the Willamette Valley and Yamhill‑Carlton is also used for some wines.

Awards and recognitions

Individual wines have received ratings and recognitions from critics and competitions. For example, the Iron Filbert Chardonnay has high professional scores, and some of the winery's wines are listed with medals/recognitions in industry competitions.
