The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG "Vigna Montosoli" by Canalicchio Di Sopra is a sublime expression of the Montalcino terroir, a wine that highlights the prestige and specificity of one of the most renowned single vineyards in the area, Vigna Montosoli. This particular location is celebrated for its unique position and its ideal soil and climate conditions, which allow it to produce Sangiovese of exceptional quality, capable of expressing depth, complexity and finesse.

Canalicchio Di Sopra, a winery that has established itself as one of the points of reference for the production of Brunello, is dedicated to creating wines that are an authentic expression of its terroir. The meticulous care in the vineyard and the meticulous attention during all phases of winemaking and aging are testimony to Canalicchio Di Sopra's commitment to the pursuit of uncompromising quality.

The "Vigna Montosoli" by Canalicchio Di Sopra, vinified exclusively with selected Sangiovese grapes, follows the rigorous rules of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG denomination, which requires a minimum aging of five years, of which at least two in wooden barrels. This long maturation period not only helps to develop the complexity and structure of the wine, but also enhances its aging capacity, making it one of the longest-lived and most appreciated Brunello di Montalcino.

The wine has an intense ruby red color, which tends towards garnet with aging. On the nose, "Vigna Montosoli" offers a complex and inviting aromatic range, with notes of ripe red fruits, dried flowers, spices, tobacco and leather, enriched by earthy and mineral nuances that reflect the uniqueness of Vigna Montosoli.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates extraordinary elegance and power, with fine, well-integrated tannins that blend into a robust body and velvety texture. The acidity is lively, contributing to the overall balance and freshness of the sip, leading to a long and persistent finish, marked by intense flavors and a pleasant aromatic complexity.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG "Vigna Montosoli" by Canalicchio Di Sopra is a wine that goes perfectly with rich and structured dishes, such as red meats, game and mature cheeses. Its refinement, complexity and length also make it an excellent candidate for aging, capable of evolving and improving over many years, revealing new nuances and depths over time.

Winery history
Founded in 1962 by Primo Pacenti, Canalicchio di Sopra has grown as a family-run estate committed to improving the quality of Montalcino wines. The winery's first bottle of Brunello dates to 1966, and in 1967 the estate was among the founding members of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino. Today it is managed by successive generations who combine tradition and innovation.
Production philosophy
Pursuit of elegance and respect for the land: the estate works exclusively with the Sangiovese grape to highlight the differences among the individual crus. Vineyard and cellar choices pursue the purity of the fruit, balance, and the protection of the environment that hosts the vineyards.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated on the northeastern side of the Montalcino hill, the estate owns approximately 60 hectares of land in total, 19 of which are planted with vineyards within the cru Canalicchio and Montosoli.
