The Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva "Magnum" from Vigneti La Selvanella exemplifies the high quality and profound winemaking tradition of Chianti Classico, presented in a prestigious magnum format which enhances its presence and evolution over time. This wine is the result of a rigorous selection of the best Sangiovese grapes, grown in the La Selvanella vineyards, one of the most renowned areas for the production of Chianti Classico, where the particular terroir gives the wine an extraordinary complexity and distinctive character.

La Selvanella's "Magnum" Reserve is the result of careful vinification followed by a period of maturation in oak barrels which enriches its flavor profile and contributes to its extraordinary tannic structure. This aging process, combined with the magnum format, guarantees a slow evolution of the wine, allowing it to develop unparalleled complexity and finesse over time.

Visually, the wine stands out for its intense and deep ruby red color, with garnet reflections that intensify with age. On the nose, it offers a wide spectrum of aromas, from notes of ripe red fruit to nuances of spices, leather, tobacco and a delicate balsamic vein, testifying to the richness of Sangiovese and the elegance conferred by refinement.

On the palate, the Chianti Classico Riserva "Magnum" reveals a perfect harmony between power and elegance, with velvety and well-integrated tannins that support a full and robust body. The flavors of cherry, plum and spice combine with toasted and vanilla notes, culminating in a long and persistent finish that leaves an indelible trace of quality and winemaking mastery.

Ideal for accompanying intense and structured dishes, such as roast meat, game, truffle-based dishes and mature cheeses, the Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva "Magnum" from Vigneti La Selvanella is also a superb meditation wine, capable of offering moments of pure tasting pleasure.

Winery history
La Selvanella is known as one of the first crus to appear on the label in the Chianti Classico denomination: the first vintage cited in sources is 1969. Over time the La Selvanella vineyard has been celebrated for the consistency of its style and for vertical tastings by specialist critics. The wine’s commercial management and promotion are linked to well‑established Tuscan operators.
Production philosophy
The approach is centered on expressing the single vineyard: restrained winemaking practices that respect the grapes and the terroir, massal selection for Sangiovese, and extended maturation in large casks to preserve structure and balance while enhancing the cru's elegance.
Terroir and vineyards
Lucarelli locality, in the municipality of Radda in Chianti, on the right bank of the Pesa stream; altitudes range from approximately 330 to 600 metres above sea level. Soils are dominated by Macigno, Formazione di Sillano and occasional patches of Pietraforte; the morphological setting and the cool microclimate contribute to a marked diurnal temperature range and to the aromatic profile of Sangiovese.
