Carlo Hauner's Malvasia delle Lipari DOC Riserva is a true expression of excellence from the Aeolian Islands, a wine jewel that combines the historic winemaking tradition of these volcanic islands with the innovative vision of Carlo Hauner. Enclosed in a 50cl bottle, this Malvasia Riserva is the result of a scrupulous selection of the best Malvasia grapes, enriched by prolonged maturation which enhances its complexity and aromatic depth.

Carlo Hauner, after moving to the Aeolian Islands, dedicated his life to rediscovering and enhancing the ancient winemaking practices of the archipelago, with an eye always turned to the quality and expression of the terroir. His passion and dedication have led to the creation of unique wines, among which the Malvasia delle Lipari Riserva stands out, a wine that embodies the perfect harmony between man and nature.

The color of this wine is a deep, deep and bright amber, which anticipates the rich and intense olfactory experience. On the nose, Malvasia delle Lipari Riserva opens with a complex and enveloping bouquet, where notes of ripe fruit, dehydrated apricot, acacia honey, and nuances of aromatic herbs and sweet spices stand out, all supported by a fine minerality that testifies the uniqueness of its volcanic terroir.

In the mouth, the Riserva surprises with its extraordinary elegance and balance. The natural sweetness of the dried grapes is perfectly integrated by a fresh acidity, which gives dynamism and length to the sip. The olfactory sensations are found in the mouth, enriched by touches of vanilla and sweet wood, the result of maturation in barrels which gives this wine an impeccable structure and exceptional aromatic persistence.

Ideal as a meditation wine, Carlo Hauner's Malvasia delle Lipari DOC Riserva is also a sublime accompaniment for mature cheeses and rich desserts, such as Sicilian cannoli or panettone. Its complexity and long persistence make it perfect for special occasions, where it can be appreciated in all its magnificence.

The limited production and meticulous attention to detail make this Malvasia Riserva a rare and precious example, a true expression of Carlo Hauner's winemaking art, which continues to enchant and fascinate enthusiasts and collectors from all over the world.

Winery history
The winery is named after Carlo Hauner, a Brescian artist who in the 1960s moved to Salina and began cultivating and restoring abandoned terraces. The winery's official history begins in 1968; Hauner renewed vineyards and local practices, also experimenting with techniques such as grape drying and fermentation control. The modern winery was built in the 1980s in Lingua. After the founder's death in 1996, management passed to the next generation, which has maintained a focus on Malvasia and local identity; the company website reports a significant production of Malvasia, with about 50,000 bottles cited for this wine.
Production philosophy
Production is based on recovering the local viticultural heritage and on integrating tradition and innovation: adherence to Aeolian practices combined with modern winemaking controls. The winery emphasizes its island origin, the artisanal care of its wines and its visual identity: many labels reproduce works by Carlo Hauner himself. The winery also produces other typical local products, such as capers from Salina.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located on the island of Salina in the Aeolian Islands. The vineyards are cultivated on terraces carved into the volcanic rock; the Mediterranean climate and maritime influence, together with volcanic soils, contribute to the mineral and aromatic character of the wines, particularly the Malvasia delle Lipari.
