Salina Bianco Carlo Hauner IGT is a splendid example of how quality viticulture in the Aeolian Islands can give life to white wines of unmistakable character and freshness. Produced by the Carlo Hauner winery, which has significantly contributed to the rebirth and valorization of the wines of the Aeolian archipelago, this white wine reflects the essence of the volcanic terroir of Salina, an island famous for its extraordinary biodiversity and its breathtaking landscapes .

Carlo Hauner, artist and visionary, began his adventure in the world of wine in the 1960s, bringing innovation and passion to the Aeolian wine production. Salina Bianco is the result of this heritage, made mainly with Malvasia delle Lipari grapes and a small contribution of other local varieties, grown on soils of volcanic origin which give the wine a marked minerality and unique freshness.

Winemaking is carefully managed to preserve the delicate aromas and liveliness of the grapes, with a short cold maceration and controlled temperature fermentation. This process allows us to obtain a wine that best expresses the varietal characteristics and the intense and aromatic aroma typical of Malvasia delle Lipari.

Visually, Salina Bianco has a brilliant straw yellow color, with greenish reflections that underline its freshness. On the nose, the wine offers a complex and inviting bouquet, with notes of white flowers, white pulp fruit, such as peach and apple, enriched by accents of aromatic herbs and a subtle mineral vein.

In the mouth, Carlo Hauner's Salina Bianco is lively and refreshing, with a well-balanced acidity that supports a light but persistent structure. The flavors of fresh fruit intertwine with mineral and saline nuances, typical of the volcanic terroir, leading to a long and pleasantly aromatic finish.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with light appetizers, fish-based dishes, seafood and Mediterranean cuisine, Salina Bianco Carlo Hauner IGT is an excellent choice for those looking for a wine that combines elegance and drinkability, capable of evoking the atmosphere unique and the sunny landscape of the Aeolian Islands.

Through its Salina Bianco, the Carlo Hauner winery continues to celebrate the wine-growing richness of the Aeolian Islands, offering a wine that is at the same time an expression of the territory and testimony to the innovation and quality that characterize the winery's production.

Winery history
The winery is named after Carlo Hauner, a Brescian artist who in the 1960s moved to Salina and began cultivating and restoring abandoned terraces. The winery's official history begins in 1968; Hauner renewed vineyards and local practices, also experimenting with techniques such as grape drying and fermentation control. The modern winery was built in the 1980s in Lingua. After the founder's death in 1996, management passed to the next generation, which has maintained a focus on Malvasia and local identity; the company website reports a significant production of Malvasia, with about 50,000 bottles cited for this wine.
Production philosophy
Production is based on recovering the local viticultural heritage and on integrating tradition and innovation: adherence to Aeolian practices combined with modern winemaking controls. The winery emphasizes its island origin, the artisanal care of its wines and its visual identity: many labels reproduce works by Carlo Hauner himself. The winery also produces other typical local products, such as capers from Salina.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located on the island of Salina in the Aeolian Islands. The vineyards are cultivated on terraces carved into the volcanic rock; the Mediterranean climate and maritime influence, together with volcanic soils, contribute to the mineral and aromatic character of the wines, particularly the Malvasia delle Lipari.
