The Petit Verdot of Mandrarossa, coming from the renowned Timperosse estate in Sicily, expresses with vigor and character the potential of this grape variety often used in blends. The grapes, grown in a Mediterranean-origin territory with a warm and sunny climate, provide an intense structure and unique aromatic depth. After careful fermentation, the wine ages in selected wooden barrels, which impart elegant complexity and softness. On the nose, it opens with notes of ripe forest fruits, plums, and slight spicy hints, while on the palate it shows round tannins and a balance between freshness and persistence. Winery history

Mandrarossa was launched as a brand in 1999 as a Cantine Settesoli project, following more than twenty years of study of the local terroirs. The label was developed to select the best habitats and micro-parcels in the Menfi area and to introduce wines produced through small-scale vinifications and targeted varietal experimentation.

Production philosophy

Terroir research, soil mapping and varietal experimentation to bring out each variety's ideal potential. The approach combines agronomic study, micro-vinifications and vineyard selection to create recognizable expressions of Sicily.

Terroir and vineyards

The main production area is Menfi: hills sloping down to the sea with varied soils that create distinct microclimates, and sea breezes and temperature variations that enhance grape quality. In the Menfishire, Mandrarossa reports a vineyard area of approximately 500 hectares.
