The Sangiovese di Romagna DOC "Primo Fiore" from Le Rocche Malatestiane wineries is a wine that elegantly expresses the typical characteristics of the Sangiovese grape, cultivated in the fertile lands of Romagna. This wine is the result of careful selection of the best grapes, following winemaking methods aimed at preserving the native aromatic profile and the freshness of the fruit.

"Primo Fiore" has an intense ruby red color, with hues that begin to turn garnet as it ages. On the nose, it features vibrant notes of red fruits, particularly cherry and blackberry, accompanied by hints of spices and a light note of vanilla, a testament to the partial aging in wood. On the palate, the wine is robust but balanced, with well-integrated tannic texture and a notable taste persistence that brings back the flavors of fruit and spices perceived on the nose.

This Sangiovese di Romagna is ideal to accompany red meat dishes, roasts, game, and aged cheeses, thanks to its structure and complexity. It is advisable to serve it at a temperature of 18-20°C to best appreciate its qualities.

Recommended for those looking for a wine that represents the Romagna winemaking tradition, the Sangiovese di Romagna DOC "Primo Fiore" from Le Rocche Malatestiane wineries is an excellent option to add a touch of class and authenticity to your personal cellar or to enjoy a glass of quality wine in good company.

Winery history
The winery has operated under the name Le Rocche Malatestiane since 1959, evoking the historic Malatesta family. Over time it has developed into a cooperative bringing together numerous winegrowers from the Rimini area; in recent years it has launched projects to enhance Sangiovese and to carry out soil zoning to better express the differences of the local terroirs.
Production philosophy
Focus on regional character by highlighting Sangiovese, careful grape selection, and separate winemaking by terroir. The winery combines conventional practices with investment in soil analysis and underground maturation to enhance the structure and complexity of its wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are situated on the hills of the province of Rimini, from the upper Val Marecchia to the inland area of Cattolica, with exposure to the Adriatic Sea. The wine-growing landscape is described as a mosaic of micro-terroirs with varying altitudes and soil types. The winery also uses an underground cave at Monte Giove for the aging of some wines.
Awards and recognitions
The Sangiovese "Mons Jovis" was awarded First Prize at the Palio del Sangiovese. Several individual labels from the winery have also been highlighted and rated by industry guides and publications.
