With a deep and intense color, Monbirone reveals a complex bouquet on the nose, in which ripe forest fruit notes such as blueberries and blackberries stand out, enriched by hints of spices, dark chocolate, and a light touch of vanilla, resulting from aging in French oak barriques. On the palate, the wine is structured and robust, with beautiful acidity that perfectly balances the richness of the fruit and the soft, velvety tannins. The aromatic persistence is long and pleasantly intense, leaving an aftertaste that invites another sip.

The 100th Anniversary Edition of Monbirone is not just an example of Barbera d'Alba, but a testament to the unique terroir of this area and the artisan skill of Monchiero Carbone winery. It is a wine that celebrates tradition, yet with an eye always on innovation and excellence.

Ideal for pairing with hearty dishes such as roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses, this wine is destined to evolve magnificently if stored properly in a cellar, showcasing its ability to mature and refine over time. A true gem for collectors and enthusiasts, the Barbera d'Alba Monbirone 100th Anniversary Edition DOC is a bottle that carries within it history, passion, and timeless quality.

Winery history
The Monchiero-Carbone family states a winemaking tradition dating back to the early 20th century and, on its official website, traces family roots to 1918; over time family members reunited and expanded the vineyards around Canale to develop the company's modern production. Third-party sources indicate that the winery’s structure was consolidated from the late 1980s/early 1990s, when the vineyards of two families were brought together to begin the joint enterprise.
Production philosophy
The estate focuses on the native grape varieties of the area and on an approach that showcases the terroir of the Roero and Langhe hills, experimenting with aging techniques to enhance the longevity of certain whites and reds. In recent years it has developed aged interpretations of Arneis.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in Canale, in the heart of the Roero. The vineyards mentioned by the winery are situated on hills with sandy soils and marl that enhance the expressiveness of Arneis; among the crus cited are Renesio Incisa and the cru Mombirone for Barbera.
Awards and recognitions
