This Kalterersee Quintessenz DOC Alto Adige comes from Kaltern and represents a local expression of the area's typical red wine. It shows a ruby color of medium intensity; on the nose there are scents of ripe red fruit, delicate floral notes and a slight spicy background. The structure is compact but not imposing: moderate tannins and a present acidity that supports the sip, with a finish of fair persistence that invites another glass.

Serve at around 16–18 °C, preferably after brief aeration if you wish to soften the aromatic components. It is suitable to accompany everyday dishes such as pasta with delicate ragù, grilled white meats, not overly spiced cured meats and semi-mature cheeses. For those looking for versatility in a regional red, this bottle can also work well for informal pairings or as a companion to a convivial meal. Storage: keep in a cool, constant place; consume within a few years according to personal preferences.
