The Merlot Lafoi Alto Adige DOC by Josef Weger presents medium intensity with ruby reflections. On the nose it shows ripe red fruit profiles, light floral nuances and hints of herbs and delicate spices, accompanied by a fresh component that balances the expression. On the palate it displays soft tannins and a balanced structure, supported by discreet acidity; the sip is pleasant, with fruity recalls and a medium-length finish.

Suitable for those seeking a versatile red, it pairs well with white meats, lightly cured cold cuts and semi-firm cheeses, as well as everyday dishes with relatively simple sauces. It is recommended to serve slightly cool compared to room temperature, around 16–18 °C, and to decant briefly if more roundness is desired. The label states the Alto Adige DOC designation and the producer Josef Weger; organoleptic characteristics may vary depending on vintage and storage conditions.
