On the nose, the Porto Colheita White 1968 offers an extraordinarily rich bouquet, with predominant notes of candied fruit, roasted almond, and delicate hints of honey and vanilla, enriched by a spicy background that includes hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. There are also traces of fine wood and tobacco, a legacy of the long rest in oak barrels.
On the palate, this wine is extremely balanced, with an elegant sweetness well counterbalanced by a lively acidity. The flavors are lingering and evolve wonderfully in the mouth, with a range that goes from dried fruit, such as apricots and dates, to complex notes of caramel and white chocolate. The finish is long and harmonious, leaving an aftertaste of incredible finesse.
Served chilled, the Porto Colheita White 1968 is an ideal companion for aged cheeses, fruit-based desserts, or simply as a reflective drink at the end of a meal. Each bottle is presented in an elegant case, making it a precious gift for any wine enthusiast or an excellent addition to a connoisseur's collection.

Distillation
The Aguardente Velhíssima is a pomace distillate (aguardente) produced as a blend: aged spirits (for example a blend of lots aged 25 and 10 years) finished in oak casks.
Ageing
Aging in wood for Ports (traditional barrels/pipes in Vila Nova de Gaia for tawny and colheita) and in oak barrels for the spirits; some Colheita labels indicate long aging periods in traditional pipes.
