The Rosso IGT Alpi Retiche “Baloss” from Retica is a red wine of restrained modern character, offered under the IGT Alpi Retiche geographic indication. Visually it shows an intense ruby color; on the nose it opens with hints of ripe red fruit and discreet spicy notes. On the palate it is balanced, with measured tannins that support the structure without being intrusive, and an acidity that maintains drinkability. The finish is of medium length, pleasant and direct. The flavor texture balances structure and finesse, offering good immediacy without excessive pretension.

It pairs easily with everyday dishes: light white and red meats, not overmatured cured meats, pasta with ragù and semi-firm cheeses. Recommended serving temperature around 16–18 °C; a brief decanting may help open the aromas. Suitable for immediate consumption, it can also tolerate short home cellaring if stored in a cool, stable place. Also well suited to informal buffets, pizzas and dishes based on grilled vegetables, ideal for a casual table or a dinner with friends.

Winery history
The project began around late 2018 from a friendship between the founders and the viticultural experience of Matteo's family; it developed by expanding owned vineyards and converting historic spaces into a winery. Retica today defines itself as an independent boutique winery.
Production philosophy
A romantic, artisanal approach to Valtellina Nebbiolo: attention to the full production chain, controlled experimentation, no reliance on distributors and a direct relationship with customers.
Terroir and vineyards
Owned vineyards in the Grumello and Inferno areas (Montagna in Valtellina, Sondrio), up to about 500 m asl; predominantly sandy-calcareous soils with stony content. Exclusive cultivation of Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) on terraced, heroic slopes with manual harvest.
