Lègio is a red wine with a spicy character, lively tannins and a complex structure. A Sangiovese obtained with the use of wood in a new way and never tried before in the company; vinification, fermentation and maceration on the marc were in fact carried out in 500-litre wood, and larger than normal barrels were also used in the refinement.
Lègio, whose name derives from the Latin and indicates the basic military unit, is a wine capable of conquering even the most demanding palates.
When poured, it shows off a beautiful ruby red colour. Very complex aromas arrive on the nose, mainly the fruity hints of red fruits of the undergrowth and cherry are perceived, which mix with the floral aromas of violet and aromatic herbs among which mint stands out in primis. Spicy hints of coffee and cocoa are added in the finish.
An extremely elegant and soft drink, characteristics obtained from a perfect balance between tannins, salinity and acidity. The finish is long and persistent, very satisfying. It goes perfectly with grilled meat and game, to try with mushroom risotto and seasoned mountain cheese.
