The Cabernet Franc DOC Friuli "Terre Magre" produced by the renowned Piera Martellozzo winery stands out for its elegance and finesse, offering an authentic expression of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. This red wine is made exclusively from Cabernet Franc grapes, carefully selected and handpicked from vineyards located in the fertile plains of Friuli, where the climate is ideal for this variety.

Visually, the wine presents an intense ruby red color, with garnet reflections that develop with aging. The olfactory bouquet is complex and seductive, characterized by aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and currant, enriched with nuances of green pepper and herbaceous notes typical of Cabernet Franc. A light hint of vanilla emerges thanks to aging in barriques, which also adds a subtle hint of toasting.

On the palate, the Cabernet Franc "Terre Magre" expresses a well-balanced structure: acidity and tannins are harmoniously integrated, resulting in a vigorous yet smooth wine. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, with a finish that reintroduces the spicy and fruity nuances perceived on the nose.

This wine is ideal for accompanying red meat dishes, both roasted and stewed, and pairs splendidly with aged cheeses and dishes rich in aromatic herbs. The aging potential of the Cabernet Franc DOC Friuli "Terre Magre" allows for its enjoyment even several years after the harvest, revealing the evolution and maturation of its flavors.

A true jewel of Friulian viticulture, the Cabernet Franc from Piera Martellozzo represents an excellent choice for lovers of distinctive red wines with a strong territorial identity.

Winery history
The company’s history dates back to the late 19th century, with the first generation of the Martellozzo family active in 1899 in the province of Padua. In the 1990s Piera, of the third generation, took the helm of the business, began re-evaluating indigenous grape varieties and launched its first organic line. In the early 2000s the headquarters were consolidated in San Quirino, in the Friuli Grave area, serving as the starting point for expansion into national and international markets.
Production philosophy
The estate combines respect for the land with an innovative approach: careful selection of well‑suited vineyard parcels, the production of wines that reflect the local territory, and a focus on sustainable practices through measures such as photovoltaic systems, lightweight packaging, water reuse and careful selection of label materials.
Terroir and vineyards
Primarily operating in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with ties to the Triveneto region; the wines are an expression of gravelly soils and a microclimate tempered by the Adriatic and sheltered by the mountains to the north.
