Winery history Bruno Gobillard

The Gobillard family has been cultivating vineyards in Pierry since the 18th century, and as early as 1858 Paul Gobillard was selling Champagne under his own name. The label linked to Bruno’s name is of more recent origin: several sources report that the designation "Domaine Bruno Gobillard" was created in the early 1990s or that Bruno established his own domaine in the 1990s; the commercial company registered as "Le Domaine Pierry" appears in the official French register in the 1990s. In recent decades the winery has stood out as an artisanal producer that reserves the best grapes for its own cuvées, while at the same time selling part of the harvest to négociants.

Production philosophy

Production focused on expressing the terroir: careful vineyard management with limited treatments, selection of the oldest parcels for the cuvées, gentle pressing, controlled fermentations and long ageing on the lees with low dosage. Manual, multi-stage handling of the winemaking process.

Terroir and vineyards

Headquartered in Pierry, in the Marne Valley near Épernay, with vineyards located on multiple crus around Épernay. Descriptions note old vines and the limestone soils typical of the area. Sources report differing vineyard areas, so the total area varies depending on the source consulted.
