Winery history Tenuta di Carleone

The estate was revived by the Egger family, and the practical work in the winery grew with the arrival of winemaker Sean O'Callaghan. The estate began as a recent project in the area around the village of Castiglioni, involving the restoration of old buildings and the establishment of vineyards in small plots scattered across the hillside of Radda in Chianti.

Production philosophy

Artisanal production and minimal intervention: cultivation according to organic/biodynamic principles, fermentations often in concrete or stainless steel, long macerations, and limited use of additives or selected yeasts to highlight the expression of Sangiovese and the terroir.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards in Radda in Chianti, laid out in numerous small parcels among woods and streams, on soils alternating between galestro and the limestone formations typical of Chianti; vineyards situated at varying elevations in the area's characteristic hilly setting.

Awards and recognitions
