The Barbera Colli Bologesi DOC from Tenuta Santa Croce, known as "Vignole," is a wine that splendidly represents the winemaking tradition of the Emilia-Romagna region. This fine red wine is produced exclusively with Barbera grapes, carefully selected from the vineyards located in the picturesque hills of Bologna, a terroir that imparts unique and distinctive characteristics to the wine.

Visually, the Barbera "Vignole" presents a very intense ruby red color, sometimes with purplish reflections that become more pronounced with aging. On the nose, it offers a complex and rich bouquet of aromas: notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, blend with hints of spices and a slight vanilla note, a remnant of the aging process in wood. On the palate, the wine is robust and full-bodied, with a well-balanced tannic structure and a pleasant acidity typical of the Barbera variety. The taste persistence is remarkable, leaving a warm and enveloping aftertaste.

In terms of vinification, Tenuta Santa Croce pays great attention to quality. After the manual harvest of the grapes, a traditional maceration and a controlled temperature fermentation follow, allowing the maximum development of aromas. The aging takes place partly in oak barrels, enriching the aromatic complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

This Barbera Colli Bologesi DOC is ideal for accompanying rich and structured dishes, such as roasted meats, game dishes, and aged cheeses. With its strong and assertive character, it is advisable to open the bottle a few hours before consumption to allow the wine to oxygenate and best express its qualities.

Tenuta Santa Croce, with its Barbera "Vignole," offers an excellent example of how tradition and modernity can meet in a glass of wine, respecting the environment and the origin of the grapes. A must for lovers of Italian wines who seek authenticity and quality.
