Albana was the first Italian white wine to obtain the D.O.C.G. Designation of origin and guaranteed. A wine that recounts its ancient tradition, arouses emotions, and with its characteristics fully represents the finest Italian wines.
The 100% Albana grapes are harvested around the second/third week of September, when perfectly ripe with careful selection of the bunches, and then placed in 3kg crates. The vinification involves a soft pressing of the whole bunches, with fermentation at a controlled temperature of 12-14° in the presence of selected yeasts. Maturation and refinement take place in vitrified cement tanks, with subsequent refinement in the bottle before being put on the market.
It shows itself at the sight of a golden yellow color. The olfactory profile mainly reveals floral hints of acacia which are combined with fruity aromas of peach and apricot, on the finish a note of green tea is perceived.
A structured wine, with good acidity and salinity, perfect in combination with dishes based on both sea and freshwater fish; excellent with baked cod and spaghetti with clams. Also ideal with white meats, cold cuts and fresh cheeses.
