Flor is a unique, intense and ethereal Sardinian wine, produced with first choice Vernaccia di Oristano grapes. The harvest takes place from mid-October and follows a traditional winemaking process; indeed it comes vinified in white with soft pressing and subsequent fermentation at controlled temperature.
The refinement, which lasts 4 years, takes place in oak and chestnut barrels kept empty, to allow for the development of the characteristic veil "flor" (hence the name of the label) which gives rise to the unmistakable scents of Vernaccia di Oristano.
It is presented in the glass with a refined golden yellow color with amber reflections. The nose offers a broad and seductive aroma that features the characteristic note of almond blossom. A dry and dry sip, which evolves giving the palate a pleasantly acidic and bitterish harmonic aroma, preserving velvety and caressing texture and backbone.
A wine that lends itself well to present tasty aperitifs and fish-based first courses; but it is accompanied by almond-based desserts and at a temperature which in that case is around 15° which gives the best of itself.
