Winery history Domaine Albert Morot

Winery founded in 1820 in Beaune; over the centuries it shifted from wine-trading activity to directly developing and managing its own vineyards. At the end of the 19th century, the park and Creusotte castle became the estate’s historic home. From the 2000s, family leadership guided the estate toward sustainable practices; the first organic-certified vintage dates from 2015. In 2023 the family group of Guillaume and Sophie Poitrinal acquired the property, launching a modernization plan and appointing Pierre-Jean Villa to direct production.

Production philosophy

Enhance the local terroir through responsible viticultural practices and winemaking aimed at expressing the purity and typicity of the individual climats of Beaune, combining historical heritage with contemporary technical adaptations to improve the quality of the wines.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the estate owns and works several climats of the Beaune appellation and holds a monopole, the Clos de la Bataillère, in Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru.
