Winery history Alexandre Chaillon

An engineer by training, Alexandre Chaillon returned to Aÿ to take over the Vollereaux family vineyards and launch an estate project focused on the terroir. The return to family viticulture took place around 2017, and since then he has progressively converted the plots to organic viticulture, actively participating in Champagne’s networks of organic vignerons and young winegrowers.

Production philosophy

Work focused on respect for the terroir, sustainability and the elimination of herbicides: it practices conversion to organic viticulture and prioritizes parcel-by-parcel winemaking with minimal intervention to bring out the character of the soils.

Terroir and vineyards

Based in Aÿ, in the Vallée de la Marne; the vineyards are on the south-facing slopes of the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay, with parcels near Pierry and Brugny‑Vandancourt. The soils are described as a mosaic of limestone, marl and clay.
