Winery Ricasoli 1141

The Ricasoli family's ownership of Castello di Brolio is documented as far back as 1141. In the 19th century Bettino Ricasoli is remembered for defining the recipe that influenced Chianti. Today the family and the winery continue to produce wine around the castle, managing the estate to showcase its crus and long-standing tradition.

Showcasing the territory through vineyard selections and targeted winemaking choices: the estate combines research and respect for the terroir to produce benchmark Chianti Classico wines, IGT labels and single-varietal wines, and also offers cellar experiences and guided tours.

The estate is centered on Castello di Brolio in Madonna a Brolio, in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti. The surrounding vineyards span the hills of the Chianti Classico, with varied aspects and soils that the estate leverages for its ranges, from Brolio/Gran Selezione to crus such as Colledilà, Roncicone and Ceniprimo.

Vintages of Castello di Brolio and other wines from the estate have received scores and recognition from international publications; many individual vintages receive high ratings in specialist guides.
