Il Campi Taurasini DOC “Costa Baiano” della cantina Villa Raiano nasce da una selezione di uve Aglianico provenienti da una porzione laterale dei vigneti aziendali situati nel comune di Castelfranci, in provincia di Avellino. Il vigneto, un unico corpo di circa nove ettari disposto ad anfiteatro a 500 metri di altitudine, gode di un microclima ideale per la maturazione ottimale delle uve.

Dopo la diraspatura, le uve fermentano e macerano per circa dieci giorni in tini d’acciaio. Il vino prosegue poi l’affinamento in vasche di cemento e in anfore di terracotta, unendo tradizione e innovazione per esaltare la purezza del frutto e la complessità aromatica.

Alla vista si presenta con un colore rosso rubino luminoso dai riflessi violacei. Al naso esprime eleganza e intensità, con profumi di piccoli frutti rossi come mirtillo e ribes, arricchiti da sentori di liquirizia e da leggere note balsamiche e speziate. Al palato è fresco, sapido e ben strutturato, con una trama tannica decisa e varietale che ne esalta il carattere autentico.

Perfetto in abbinamento a piatti saporiti della tradizione, come sughi ricchi e carni alla brace.

Winery history
Villa Raiano was established in 1996 in the former facilities of the Basso family’s olive oil mill in the hamlet of Raiano. The current winery, a modern facility integrated into the landscape, was built in 2009 on a hill in the area of San Michele di Serino and serves as the estate’s operational hub.
Production philosophy
Showcasing the territory and Irpinia's indigenous varieties, the estate works to convey the landscape and the soil-and-climate differences of each vineyard, offering ranges that reflect the identity of individual plots and prioritizing organic farming practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Irpinia: vineyards spread across several municipalities and elevations that influence microclimates and soils; the winery overlooks the valley of the Sabato River and the surrounding hills, and produces wines in the main denominations of the province of Avellino.
