The Alto Adige DOC Chardonnay from the Linea 1840 of H. Lun stands out for the typical elegance of the mountainous territory from which it originates, located between the Dolomites and the Rhaetian Alps. This grape variety, skillfully cultivated in high-altitude vineyards, expresses a vibrant and fresh personality thanks to the cool nights and mild days of the region.

The wine matures in selected wooden barrels, which help to develop a refined aromatic complexity without overpowering the liveliness of the fruit. On the nose, scents of green apple, citrus, and a delicate touch of vanilla are perceived, while on the palate it reveals itself as harmonious, with a beautiful structure and a persistent mineral freshness. Perfect to accompany fish dishes, white meats, or fresh cheeses, this Chardonnay represents a perfect balance between tradition and modernity of Alto Adige.

Winery history
H. Lun originated as a quality label from South Tyrol when Alois H. Lun, beginning in 1840, started marketing wines selected from the region’s finest vineyards under his own name. After more than a century, the H. Lun label came under the management of Cantina Girlan, which maintains and develops it as an independent line while preserving its tradition.

Terroir and vineyards
The wines come from Alto Adige / Südtirol: an alpine‑continental climate tempered by abundant sunshine and shelter from the Alps to the north. Warm currents from Lake Garda and the Mediterranean influence the sunny exposures around Bolzano/Cornaiano.
