Ideal as a digestif after a meal, it shows best served chilled or with a large ice cube, when the structure relaxes and the aromatic profiles emerge with greater clarity. It also lends itself to use as a cocktail ingredient to add depth and character; practical pairings include dark chocolate, dry pastries and aged cheeses, always favoring preparations that are not overly sweet so its bitterness can engage.
