The Barolo Bussia DOCG - Vigna Mondoca Riserva - Oddero is a wine that embodies the maximum expression of the Bussia terroir, one of the most prestigious Barolo crus in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, and represents the commitment of the historic Oddero winery in the production of wines of exceptional quality. The winery, with a history dating back to the 18th century, is renowned for its dedication to cultivating Nebbiolo grapes following sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, then transforming them into wines that faithfully express the identity of their territory.

The "Vigna Mondoca" is selected for the production of this Barolo Reserve, a wine that stands out for its prolonged refinement, exceeding the minimum terms required by the denomination, with an aging period that combines passage in large oak barrels with further maturation in the bottle. This process allows the wine to develop an aromatic complexity, structure and tannic softness that are distinctive characteristics of the best expressions of Barolo.

At sight, Barolo Bussia Vigna Mondoca Riserva shows an intense garnet red color, with orange reflections that herald its evolution. On the nose, the wine opens with a complex and deep bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits, spices, leather, tobacco and dried flowers emerge, enriched by a light minerality and earthy nuances that testify to the richness of the Bussia cru.

In the mouth, the wine offers an extraordinary structure, with dense but finely smooth tannins, supported by a lively acidity that guarantees balance and contributes to a harmonious and persistent sip. The flavors reflect the olfactory complexity, with a long and memorable finish that leaves a sensation of elegance and controlled power.

Ideal in combination with dishes of great intensity, such as grilled red meats, truffle-based dishes, game and mature cheeses, the Barolo Bussia Vigna Mondoca Riserva is also an excellent meditation wine, capable of evolving and enriching itself with new nuances over time .

Winery history
The Oddero family has been in La Morra since the 18th century; the modern estate dates from 1878, when the first Giacomo Oddero began bottling wines under the family name. In the 20th century, the management of Giacomo helped consolidate the estate’s reputation; today the business is run by the next generations, who maintain the family tradition while expanding the vineyards and production.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to express the terroir by working with careful attention in the vineyard and with respect for the environment: organic practices and sustainable management are adopted to showcase the individual crus and preserve the heritage of the Langhe. In the cellar, priority is given to preserving the integrity of the grapes and to aging in large casks for wines that evolve over time.
