The Barolo Cerretta DOCG produced by Davide Fregonese is an oenological masterpiece that encapsulates the excellence of the Piedmontese terroir. This wine is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, carefully selected from vineyards in the prestigious area of Cerretta, known for its soil particularly favorable to the cultivation of this variety.

The aging of Barolo Cerretta traditionally takes place in large oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop a complexity and structure that make it unmistakable. On the nose, it presents with intense aromas of ripe red fruits, notes of violet, spices, and a slight hint of tobacco, all framed by a light balsamic background that further stimulates the olfactory complexity.

On the palate, Davide Fregonese's Barolo Cerretta reveals a full and robust body, with well-structured but smoothed tannins that promise excellent aging potential. The balance between acidity and alcohol is admirable, leading to a persistent and satisfying finish.

Served at the appropriate temperature of 18-20 degrees Celsius, this Barolo pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as braised meats, game, and aged cheeses. It is also an excellent choice for special occasions or as a gift for enthusiasts of exceptional wines.

This wine not only represents the fine art of winemaking in Piedmont but is also a tribute to the passion and dedicated work of Davide Fregonese, who continues to rise as a producer of some of the most renowned Barolos in the region.

Winery history
Davide Fregonese, originally from Piedmont and with professional experience in the financial sector, launched the Bugia Nen project by acquiring vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba and in the Etna area. He entrusted technical management and winemaking to experienced local figures to enhance the Piedmont crus and the Etna vineyards, developing the first vintages from 2014 for some labels.
Production philosophy
Seeking elegance and the expression of the terroir: respect for local tradition combined with a contemporary approach in the vineyard and winery. On Mount Etna the philosophy is "give without taking" — that is, to respect local practices and showcase indigenous grapes.
Terroir and vineyards
It operates in two distinct areas: the Langhe and the north-eastern slopes of Etna. Soils range from the calcareous-clay of the Langhe to the volcanic soils of Etna.
Awards and recognitions
Several individual wines have received scores and recognition from international publications as well as guide mentions.
