The Barolo DOCG - Rocche di Castiglione - Magnum - Oddero is an oenological jewel produced by the historic Oddero winery, one of the most respected wineries in Piedmont, with roots that extend back to the 18th century. This wine comes from one of the most celebrated areas for the production of Barolo, the "Rocche di Castiglione" cru, in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, known for its unique terroir which gives the wines extraordinary elegance, depth and longevity.

Presented in Magnum format, which enhances its qualities and favors its evolution over time, the Barolo Rocche di Castiglione di Oddero is the result of a scrupulous selection of the best Nebbiolo grapes, carefully cultivated and harvested by hand to guarantee the maximum expression of the grape variety and terroir.

At sight, the wine has an intense garnet red color, with orange reflections that tend to appear with aging. On the nose, it offers a complex and seductive bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruit, dried flowers, spices, tobacco and a light balsamic touch, enriched by earthy and mineral nuances that reflect the uniqueness of the "Rocche di Castiglione" cru.

In the mouth, Barolo Rocche di Castiglione reveals a powerful yet balanced structure, with robust and elegant tannins that intertwine perfectly with lively acidity, leading to a palate of great complexity and finesse. The flavors are in perfect harmony with the olfactory notes, culminating in a long and persistent finish, which leaves a pleasant sensation of harmony and depth.

Ideal to accompany rich and structured dishes, such as red meats, game, mature cheeses and truffle-based dishes, the Barolo DOCG Rocche di Castiglione - Magnum di Oddero is also a perfect wine for special occasions, capable of offering a memorable tasting experience and to evolve beautifully over the years.

Winery history
The Oddero family has been in La Morra since the 18th century; the modern estate dates from 1878, when the first Giacomo Oddero began bottling wines under the family name. In the 20th century, the management of Giacomo helped consolidate the estate’s reputation; today the business is run by the next generations, who maintain the family tradition while expanding the vineyards and production.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to express the terroir by working with careful attention in the vineyard and with respect for the environment: organic practices and sustainable management are adopted to showcase the individual crus and preserve the heritage of the Langhe. In the cellar, priority is given to preserving the integrity of the grapes and to aging in large casks for wines that evolve over time.
Terroir and vineyards
Langhe, based in Santa Maria di La Morra; vineyards and grapes sourced from numerous crus of Barolo and Barbaresco, including Brunate, Vignarionda, Rocche di Castiglione, Bussia, Villero and Monvigliero, as well as estates in the Asti area.
