Sinuous and elegant, this Barolo from La Morra by the Crissante Alessandria winery presents a fragrant profile typical of the subregion: rose petal and violet intertwine with cherry and small red berries, while a slight earthy and spicy note adds depth. In the glass it shows intense clarity and a tannic structure that is well-defined yet fine, suggesting elegance more than brute force; freshness and sapidity balance the palate, making it immediately pleasing despite its serious character.

On the palate it is harmonious and progressive, with a body that supports without weighing down and a persistence that recalls the initial aromas. The magnum format enhances the wine’s slowness, promoting softness and a progressive integration of the aromas: I suggest serving it slightly aerated to appreciate its complexity. It pairs with roasted meats, braised dishes, mushroom-based preparations and aged cheeses; it remains a safe choice for those seeking a Barolo of classic style, ready to accompany important tables and moments of long, leisurely enjoyment.

Winery history
The estate was founded in 1958 when Crissante Alessandria, together with his wife Teresa, decided to vinify the grapes from the family vineyards, which until then had been sold to other wineries in the Langa. Over the years the property expanded its vineyards on La Morra’s best exposures; management has remained family-run and today is led by Michele Alessandria, with the involvement of his sons Alberto and Luca.
Production philosophy
Production rooted in the traditions of the region: use of native grape varieties, traditional winemaking with extended fermentations, and careful ageing in wooden vessels of varying sizes to respect the specific characteristics of each wine.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate’s vineyards are located in the municipality of La Morra, in the Capalot, Galina and Roggeri vineyards. The winery and family residences are situated in the hamlet of Santa Maria Borgata Roggeri.
