The Barolo Prapò DOCG by Davide Fregonese represents excellence in the panorama of Piedmontese wines, the result of careful selection of Nebbiolo grapes from the Prapò cru, located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba. This area is renowned for its calcareous-marl soils, which lend the wine complexity and a marked minerality.

Davide Fregonese's Barolo undergoes a vinification process that is attentive and respectful of ancient traditions, with fermentation in large oak vats, followed by a long aging in wooden barrels for at least 38 months, as demanded by the Barolo DOCG regulations. This process endows the wine with a formidable structure, balanced by a smoothness and tactile finesse that seduces the palate.

Visually, the Barolo Prapò presents an intense garnet red color, which tends to acquire orange reflections as it ages. On the nose, deep aromas of ripe fruit such as cherries and plums emerge, enriched by nuances of tobacco, leather, and sweet spices, including vanilla and cinnamon, a legacy of the long rest in wood.

On the palate, the wine displays remarkable complexity, with well-integrated tannins and a persistent freshness that leads to a long and pleasantly bitter finish. This Barolo is ideal for pairing with intense dishes, such as roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses. It is also perfect as a meditation wine, to be enjoyed slowly to appreciate its evolution in the glass.

The Barolo Prapò by Davide Fregonese is therefore a distinguished choice for those seeking a wine that can offer a profound sensory experience, a testament to the elegance and power of Nebbiolo from Serralunga d'Alba.

Winery history
Davide Fregonese, originally from Piedmont and with professional experience in the financial sector, launched the Bugia Nen project by acquiring vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba and in the Etna area. He entrusted technical management and winemaking to experienced local figures to enhance the Piedmont crus and the Etna vineyards, developing the first vintages from 2014 for some labels.
Production philosophy
Seeking elegance and the expression of the terroir: respect for local tradition combined with a contemporary approach in the vineyard and winery. On Mount Etna the philosophy is "give without taking" — that is, to respect local practices and showcase indigenous grapes.
Terroir and vineyards
It operates in two distinct areas: the Langhe and the north-eastern slopes of Etna. Soils range from the calcareous-clay of the Langhe to the volcanic soils of Etna.
Awards and recognitions
Several individual wines have received scores and recognition from international publications as well as guide mentions.
