The Barolo DOCG Rocche di Castiglione - Oddero is one of the flagship wines of the Oddero winery, a historic winery that proudly represents the tradition and innovation of Piedmont in the world of wine. Rocche di Castiglione is one of the most renowned areas of Barolo, located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, and is characterized by an exceptional terroir that gives the wines extraordinary complexity and elegance.

This Barolo is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes selected from the best plots of the Rocche di Castiglione vineyard, known for its soil rich in marl and sand, which helps to give the wine a fine tannic structure and notable aromatic depth. Oddero's production philosophy aims to enhance the natural characteristics of the vine and the territory, through sustainable viticulture practices and careful aging in wood.

Visually, Barolo Rocche di Castiglione has a deep garnet red color, with orange reflections that emerge with aging. On the nose, the wine unfolds a complex and seductive bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruit, dried flowers, spices, tobacco and mineral hints, which reflect the elegance and richness of the Rocche di Castiglione cru.

In the mouth, the wine is powerful yet balanced, with silky tannins and a lively acidity that supports the rich structure of the wine, leading towards a long and persistent finish. The flavors are in perfect harmony with the olfactory sensations, offering a full and complex sip, which expresses the typicality and uniqueness of the Castiglione Falletto terroir.

Ideal to accompany red meat dishes, game, mature cheeses and rich truffle-based dishes, the Barolo DOCG Rocche di Castiglione di Oddero is also a meditation wine, which benefits from further aging in the bottle, revealing its extraordinary character over time. complexity and evolution.

Winery history
The Oddero family has been in La Morra since the 18th century; the modern estate dates from 1878, when the first Giacomo Oddero began bottling wines under the family name. In the 20th century, the management of Giacomo helped consolidate the estate’s reputation; today the business is run by the next generations, who maintain the family tradition while expanding the vineyards and production.
