This splendid red wine, the Barbera d'Alba DOC "Brichet" from Cà Viola winery, represents an excellent example of Piedmontese winemaking tradition. Produced exclusively with Barbera grapes, this label perfectly expresses the characteristics of the Alba terroir, a region famously fertile for high-quality viticulture.

The Barbera d'Alba DOC "Brichet" stands out for its intense red color with violet reflections. On the nose, it is rich with intense aromas ranging from notes of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and plums, to hints of sweet spices and a slight toastiness from aging in wood, which adds complexity without overshadowing the fruit.

On the palate, the wine is vigorous yet balanced, with a lively acidity typical of the Barbera variety that complements a well-integrated tannic structure. The taste is full and persistent, with a long and pleasantly bitter finish that invites another glass.

Ideal for accompanying Piedmontese dishes, such as agnolotti del plin or brasato al vino, the Barbera d'Alba "Brichet" is also perfect with aged cheeses and flavorful cured meats. Its versatility makes it suitable for various occasions, from a festive table to a quiet homemade meal.

Aged in small French oak barrels, this wine can be enjoyed young to appreciate its fruity freshness or can be left to mature in the cellar for a few years to further develop its complexity. A true gem for lovers of Italian wine who are seeking a Barbera with character and elegance.

Winery history
Ca' Viola was established from the winemaking activity of Giuseppe Caviola. The estate took its first steps in the early 1990s, beginning with leased vineyards in Montelupo Albese and its first artisanal vinifications. Over time the business has developed wines of Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo; the production site and hospitality activities are concentrated in Dogliani.
Production philosophy
Strong focus on terroir and quality: production focused on expressing local grapes through minimally invasive vinification, research that blends tradition and innovation, and oenological consultancy to deepen the understanding of wine in its various aspects.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate works vineyards in the Langhe, with principal plots in Montelupo, in Novello and in Bossolasco. The vines are tended on steep slopes and at elevations that contribute structure and longevity to the wines.
Awards and recognitions
Among the advertised accolades is the Barolo Novello 2018, which was awarded five grapes by Bibenda. Founder Giuseppe "Beppe" Caviola is cited as Enologist of the Year in several secondary sources.
