Ruby with a faint violet hue that immediately feels welcoming. On the nose it opens with ripe berries and cherry, with delicate spicy notes and a herbaceous hint that preserves freshness; on the palate it has medium body, well-integrated tannins and a softness that pleasantly offsets the acidity. A subtle savory quality supports the mid-palate and makes the finish taut and clean, more geared toward drinkability than ostentation, ideal for those seeking an immediate red with character.

Well suited to everyday drinking, it pairs successfully with rustic dishes: grilled meats, country-style ragù, mushrooms and semi-hard cheeses find a good balance with this wine. Serve at around 16–18°C and let it breathe for a few minutes to open the aromas; it works just as well on its own or in company, for informal meals and dinners with friends. Podere Monastero è un'azienda situata nel territorio di Castellina in Chianti. È stata creata dall'enologo Alessandro Cellai con l'obiettivo di produrre due vini di alta qualità: un Pinot Nero e un secondo vino frutto di Merlot e Cabernet. La conduzione ha posto grande attenzione alla scelta dei cloni e dei portinnesti e a pratiche di cantina mirate alla cura del frutto e dell'evoluzione del vino.
Production philosophy
L'azienda privilegia interventi accurati sia in vigna sia in cantina: selezione di cloni e portinnesti, riduzione delle rese per pianta, raccolta manuale e fermentazioni controllate seguite da affinamento in barrique. In alcune descrizioni esterne si trova inoltre riferimento a una filosofia di gestione mirata alla limitazione degli interventi per valorizzare il carattere dei vitigni e del territorio.
