The Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial in Magnum format by Marqués de Murrieta is an enchanting testimony to the Spanish winemaking tradition and the prestige of Rioja. This wine, an emblem of excellence from the Marqués de Murrieta winery, one of the oldest and most respected in the region, is produced only in vintages considered exceptional, underlining the attention and care dedicated to its creation.

The Magnum, which doubles the standard capacity of a bottle with its 1.5 litres, is not only a format that promises considerable visual impact and generous sharing, but also a favorable environment for a slower and more gradual aging of wine, enhancing its evolution and the complexity of the aromas.

The Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial is a sophisticated blend of Tempranillo, which makes up the majority of the blend, and a small percentage of Mazuelo, which adds structure and depth to the wine. The grapes come from the oldest vineyards of the Ygay estate, located at an altitude ranging from 320 to 485 meters, where the unique microclimate and varied soil contribute to the richness and intensity of the fruit.

After the harvest, the wine undergoes an extended period of aging in oak barriques, a process that reflects the Rioja winemaking tradition and which gives Castillo Ygay its characteristic aromatic complexity, balance and finesse. This long aging in wood, followed by further maturation in the bottle, allows the wine to develop a rich palette of aromas, ranging from ripe fruit, spices, tobacco, to balsamic and vanilla notes.

Visually, the wine has an intense and deep red color, with reflections that tend towards garnet with age. On the nose, Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial exhibits a complex and inviting bouquet, with aromas of ripe red fruits, notes of leather, tobacco, sweet spices and an elegant touch of oak. In the mouth, it stands out for its elegant and balanced structure, with fine tannins and a freshness that confirms the excellent aging capacity of the wine. The finish is long, persistent and intensely aromatic.

Ideal for special occasions, the Magnum of Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial is perfect in combination with complex and structured dishes, such as red meats, game and aged cheeses, but it is also a magnificent meditation wine, which invites careful tasting to grasp all its nuances.

In conclusion, the Magnum format of Marqués de Murrieta's Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial not only represents a work of oenological art, but is also a tribute to the history, tradition and innovation of Rioja, offering an unforgettable tasting experience which celebrates the greatness of Spanish wine.
