Discover the exclusivity and elegance of Champagne Les Vignes de Montgueux Extra Brut, produced by the renowned Lassaigne maison. Located in the picturesque Montgueux region, this winery is famous for its artisanal approach and dedication to creating uniquely refined champagne.

This Extra Brut champagne is an extraordinary example, characterized by prolonged aging on the yeasts which enhances its complexity and structure. The blend, predominantly made of Chardonnay, comes from carefully selected vines in Montgueux, where the calcareous soil and exposure favor the optimal ripening of the grapes, giving the wine distinctive freshness and minerality.

The visual appearance is enchanting with its bright golden hue and fine, persistent bubbles, a prelude to an intense olfactory experience. On the nose, this champagne reveals notes of ripe citrus, white flowers, and delicate hints of toasted bread, intertwined in an elegant and inviting bouquet. On the palate, the liveliness of the acidity is balanced by a subtle creaminess, leading to a long and distinctly mineral finish.

Perfect as an aperitif, Champagne Les Vignes de Montgueux Extra Brut by Lassaigne pairs beautifully with delicate fish dishes, oysters, or simply enjoyed on its own, to celebrate special moments. A true gem for aficionados of high-quality champagne, this wine will undoubtedly impress with its pure expression of the Montgueux terroir.

Invite your senses on a journey of refined bubbles and distinct elegance with each sip of this exceptional champagne.

Jacques Lassaigne – Winery in Montgueux (Côte des Bar, Champagne)

Discover the story and wines of Jacques Lassaigne.

Champagne producer based in Montgueux (Aube), led by Emmanuel Lassaigne, known for mineral blanc de blancs and a low-intervention vineyard approach (organic/biodynamic).
Region: Montgueux (Côte des Bar, Champagne)
Country: Francia
Founded: 1964
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Vineyard in Montgueux, calcareous/chalky soil Specialist in mineral and taut blanc de blancs Vineyard management oriented toward organic/biodynamic practices. Managed by Emmanuel Lassaigne since 1999 Small-scale estate
Winery history
The Lassaigne family re-established vineyards in Montgueux in the second half of the 20th century; the domaine is commonly dated to the 1960s and grew into a small estate of a few hectares. Emmanuel Lassaigne took over the family estate in 1999 and has developed its international reputation by focusing on parcel-by-parcel winemaking, including fermentations in wood, and a vineyard management philosophy oriented toward organic and biodynamic practices. In some accounts, the historic commitment of his father Jacques to bringing back into cultivation the vineyards abandoned in the 1950s–60s is cited as the foundation of the current family project.
Production philosophy
Low intervention in the cellar and a strong focus on terroir: vineyard management following organic, biodynamic or integrative practices, manual work, hand-harvested grapes, parcel-by-parcel vinifications, controlled use of oak, and reduced technological interventions. The stated aim is to faithfully express the character of Chardonnay on the calcareous soils of Montgueux.
Terroir and vineyards
Montgueux — chalk hill a short distance from Troyes; a terroir often likened by specialists to the "Montrachet of Champagne" for its finesse.
Awards and recognitions
