The Chardonnay Cardellino Alto Adige DOC by Elena Walch is a white wine made from Chardonnay that reflects a modern style from the estate. It shows a clear, clean aromatic profile: notes of white-fleshed fruit and citrus alternate with delicate floral hints, while a balance of freshness and smoothness defines its character. The structure is pleasant and restrained; the finish tends toward modest persistence, without excess. This approach makes the wine suitable for everyday drinking as well as informal occasions.

At the table, it pairs with lightly seasoned seafood, baked or grilled fish and vegetable-based dishes, as well as fresh, medium-aged cheeses. A cool but not too cold serving temperature is recommended to appreciate its aromas; allowing the bottle a short time to breathe can enhance its olfactory expression. Overall, it is a versatile offer for those seeking a clean, approachable Italian white wine.

Winery history
Trained as an architect, Elena Walch raised the international profile of her family estate by modernising vineyard and cellar practices and emphasising single-vineyard expression. In recent years leadership has been progressively assumed by her daughters Julia and Karoline (fifth generation).
Production philosophy
Strongly terroir-driven approach: emphasis on single 'Vigna' sites, manual vineyard work, sustainability-oriented practices and careful cellar ageing (e.g. French barriques and extended bottle ageing).
Terroir and vineyards
Estate and vineyards located in Alto Adige/Südtirol (Termeno/Tramin, Caldaro). Calcareous and varied soils; climate combining summer warmth with cool Dolomite winds. The producer cites Vigna Castel Ringberg as a single vineyard of about 20 hectares; Vigna Kastelaz is a steep terraced site above Tramin.
